Laila Zaki
Associate

Laila is an Associate in the firm’s Capital Markets and Financial Services department. Since joining the firm, she has been involved in a variety of securitization and banking transactions, in addition to several major acquisition transactions. Ms. Zaki assisted in drafting facility agreements along with its security documents. Recently, she was involved in the drafting of a facility agreement with a total value of 12.3 billion Egyptian pounds, as well as the security documents associated with it.  Previously, she completed internship programs at several top tier law firms in Egypt, all of which provided her with the opportunity to obtain invaluable professional experience. In addition, Laila also participated in several extracurricular activities while studying; Moot Court Model (Faculty of Law, English Section, Cairo University) and in school; Model Arab League.

Zaki obtained her LLB from the English Department of Alexandria University in 2017 

Major deals:

  • Vodacom's acquisition of a 55% stake in Vodafone Egypt with an amount of €2.5 billion.

  • Advised the lenders in a syndicated finance deal of EGP 12.3 billion, between 11 of the top banks in Egypt & borrower, Gharably Integrated Engineering Company (GIECO); whereby GIECO is granted a MTL to finance the expansion of the northern & southern sides of the Abu Qir port, along with the development of the new city of Abu Qir.

  • Advised Arab African International Bank in granting Sky Investments a MTL amounting to EGP 1.3 billion to partially finance the investment cost of Park Street Complex.

  • Advised Egypt’s leading BNPL ValU on Egypt’s 1st Fintech bond asset backed securities transaction amounting to EGP 322.550 million of a 2 billion short-term multiple issuance program.

  • Advised Premium International for Credit Services (Premium Card) on its program of multiple securitization issuances worth EGP 2 billion. 

  • Ahly Leasing & Factoring Company securitization transaction amounting to EGP 747.5 million.

  • Abdel Latif Jameel Finance securitization transaction amounting to EGP 690 million.
