Youssef Abbas is an Associate and Head of Marketing & Development at Dreny & Partners. He joined the firm in 2022 and, over more than four years, has developed broad experience across corporate, capital markets and financing matters, with particular exposure to securitisation, debt capital markets, sukuk, non-banking financial services, mergers and acquisitions and general corporate advisory work.

During his time at the firm, Youssef has been involved in a wide range of complex transactions, assisting with transaction structuring, legal due diligence, the drafting and review of transaction and corporate documentation, regulatory submissions and the coordination of matters involving issuers, financial institutions, investors, advisers and regulatory authorities. His experience includes securitisation programmes and issuances, bond and short-term debt issuances, structured finance transactions, investment arrangements, corporate restructurings and other regulated financial transactions.

In parallel with his legal practice, Youssef serves as Head of Marketing & Development, where he is responsible for supporting the firm’s strategic growth, business development and market positioning. His work includes client and institutional outreach, legal directory submissions, firm credentials and proposals, transaction announcements, external communications and the development of relationships with clients, financial institutions and other market participants.

Before joining Dreny & Partners, Youssef gained experience at the Sovereign Fund of Egypt, where he worked in financial analysis, investment assessment and financial forecasting. This background provides him with a strong commercial perspective that complements his legal practice, particularly in matters involving financial institutions, investment structures and capital markets.

Youssef holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the University of East Anglia in the United Kingdom, awarded in 2021, and is currently pursuing his legal studies at the Faculty of Law, Cairo University.
